After three sunny, peaceful, and adventure-filled days in Punta Gorda, FL, I wanted to wrap things up with a little trip recap. If you’re considering a stay at the Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor, or just curious about this beautiful corner of southwest Florida, here’s my take on what made it such a memorable getaway — plus a few things I’d plan a little differently next time.
💛 What We Loved Most
1. The Service at Sunseeker Was Outstanding
From the moment we checked in, the staff was friendly and helpful, but one person in particular made our experience even better — Alberto, who was in charge of the desk at the Lotus Building. He went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed and offered to move our room when we mentioned a bit of road noise (more on that below!).
2. The Food Was Excellent
Whether it was lunch by the pool, cocktails at Maury’s, or casual eats from the Harbor Food Court, everything we had was fresh, flavorful, and well presented. We especially loved the basil lemonade cocktails at the pool and our seafood dinners on property.
3. The Pools Were Dreamy
We experienced both the main-level pool and the adults-only rooftop VIP pool, and they were equally impressive in different ways. The cabana day was a highlight, but floating in the rooftop pool while looking out over the harbor? That was something special.
4. We Got to Explore Off Resort
We spent time at Fishermen’s Village, visited the Peace River Wildlife Center, wandered through the botanical gardens, and even spotted dolphins on a sunset cruise. I loved that we could balance poolside relaxation with a little bit of exploring.
5. It Was Genuinely Restful
Sometimes vacations can feel busy, but this one gave us time to slow down. We read books, enjoyed cocktails in the sunshine, listened to music, and soaked up the views. I left feeling relaxed and grateful for the time with my mom and sister.
✨ What We’d Do Differently Next Time
Honestly, there’s not much we’d change — but if I were planning this trip again, here are a few things I’d keep in mind:
1. Request a Room Away from the Bridge
Our room had a beautiful view of the harbor, but it was located on the corner near the bridge, and there was a bit more road noise than expected when sitting outside on the balcony. Alberto kindly offered to move us, but we were already unpacked and settled in, so we decided to stay put.
2. Make Time for Breakfast at the Country Club
Sunseeker partners with a local golf course and country club, and we heard great things about the breakfast they offer there. I worked every morning (which is the downside of a working trip!), so we didn’t get to check it out. Next time, I’ll make a point to start the day there — it looked beautiful!
3. Pack Binoculars
There was so much to see out on the water — boats, diving birds, and even dolphins — and a pair of binoculars would’ve made it extra fun to watch the action from the balcony or the rooftop pool.
📸 Final Thoughts
This trip was everything I hoped it would be: relaxing, beautiful, and full of special memories. If you’re considering a visit to Sunseeker Resort or Punta Gorda, I’d absolutely recommend it — especially for a girls’ getaway or a relaxing long weekend.
Let me know if you’ve ever stayed there or if Punta Gorda is on your list — I’d love to hear what you thought or what I should add to my list for next time!

Binoculars!! Adding to my pack list for florida keys in june and for Hawaii!
Never thought of them.
